Job Description

We have a current opening for a Director, People Business Partner – US Commercial and are actively reviewing applications.

The Director, People Business Partner (PBP) serves as the strategic People advisor to the US Commercial organization, including Sales, Trade Marketing & Category Management, and North America Business Planning & Development teams.

This role partners closely with Commercial leadership and the People & Organization (P&O) function to align talent strategy with business objectives. Reporting to the Commercial People Business Partner North America, this position supports approximately 300 employees, manages two direct reports, and provides advisory support to three North American Board Members based in Parsippany.

  • Serve as a strategic People advisor to Commercial leadership, aligning talent initiatives with business objectives and financial priorities.
  • Lead and manage complex employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Drive annual HR cycles including performance management, succession planning, and salary review processes, ensuring fairness, internal equity, and budget alignment.
  • Partner with leadership to identify talent gaps and implement targeted development, workforce planning, and organizational design solutions.
  • Facilitate succession planning discussions and leverage outcomes to inform recruitment and long-term talent strategy.
  • Analyze performance, compensation, and talent data to ensure alignment with diversity and inclusion objectives.
  • Coach senior leaders and Board Members on team effectiveness, engagement risks, and organizational challenges.
  • Anticipate workforce and engagement needs, proactively recommending solutions to improve retention and productivity.
  • Lead and develop a team of two People professionals, ensuring delivery of high-quality support to the Commercial organization.
  • Collaborate across the P&O function to implement best practices and enterprise-wide talent initiatives.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree (MBA, MA, or MS) preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, including significant experience resolving complex employee relations matters.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Sales and Marketing functions within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation practices, succession planning, organizational design, performance management, and federal/state employment laws.
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and operate effectively within a highly matrixed organization.
  • Experience leading and developing HR professionals.
  • Experience working with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

The base salary range for this position is $138,000.00 - $185,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.

In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
