Job Summary
The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. This role drives a proactive safety culture, minimizes environmental impact, and ensures a safe, healthy workplace for employees, contractors, and visitors. The EHS Manager partners with leadership and employees to continuously improve safety performance and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local/state regulations
Lead workplace safety initiatives, risk assessments, and hazard mitigation activities
Promote a culture of safety through training, communication, and employee engagement
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
Manage environmental compliance programs, including waste management, air emissions, water discharge, and chemical handling
Maintain required EHS documentation, permits, and reporting
Track and analyze safety metrics (TRIR, DART, near misses) and environmental KPIs
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and inspections
Support ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and occupational health initiatives
Collaborate with Operations and Engineering on new equipment, process changes, and facility expansions
Lead emergency response planning, drills, and incident preparedness
Manage EHS budgets and external vendors/consultants
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations
Experience conducting safety training and leading investigations
Proven ability to drive safety culture and continuous improvement
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM
Experience in machinery, heavy manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or similar industries
Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 systems
Multi-site EHS responsibility experience
