Job Summary

The Host/Audio Producer position is the voice of MORNING EDITION and other on-air content on WGLT and WCBU. The position also leads production of on-air promos and imaging work, helps to manage WGLT and WCBU automation and traffic systems, and supports weekend music programming.

$23.08 – $25.64 per hour

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mass media, journalism, media, communications, public relations or related field.
2. One (1) year of broadcast media and audio production experience.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Familiarity with public media and the NPR Network.
2. Familiarity with Central Illinois news and media markets.
3. Live hosting experience in radio or TV.

Work Hours

Core work hours are 5:00am -1:30pm, Monday through Friday.

3. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
