SJ Venture is a dynamic and fast-growing restaurant group, operating 10 restaurant locations across Indiana—9 in West Lafayette and 1 in Indianapolis. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional Asian dining experiences, supported by a dedicated and professional operations team. As we continue to expand our reach and develop new brands, we are searching for an experienced Human Resources Manager (HR Manager) to lead and optimize our HR processes.

This role is pivotal in strengthening our workforce, developing a positive company culture, and supporting long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Design and execute strategies to attract top talent for restaurant roles (chefs, servers, cashiers, managers).
  • Manage job postings, interviews, and the hiring process.
  • Strengthen our employer brand to enhance recruitment efficiency.

2. Performance Management & KPI Development

  • Develop and implement KPI systems for performance evaluation.
  • Oversee quarterly and annual performance review cycles.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to enhance employee engagement.

3. Training & Employee Development

  • Create structured onboarding and ongoing training programs.
  • Design leadership development programs for store managers and high-potential employees.
  • Promote internal career growth with tailored development plans.

4. Compensation & Benefits Management

  • Design competitive salary structures.
  • Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance and leave policies.

5. Company Culture & Employee Engagement

  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive company culture aligned with SJ Venture's values.
  • Organize team-building events and appreciation initiatives.
  • Serve as a bridge between employees and management to encourage collaboration.

6. HR Compliance & Employee Relations

  • Ensure compliance with all labor laws and company policies.
  • Address and resolve employee relations issues, including conflicts and grievances.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.

7. HR Technology & Data Analytics

  • Oversee HR software systems (e.g., Gusto, BambooHR, ADP).
  • Utilize HR data to improve workforce planning.
  • Develop dashboards to track metrics like turnover and hiring efficiency.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in Human resources, preferably in restaurant, hospitality, or retail industries.
  • Strong background in performance management, employee engagement, and compensation planning.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven ability to recruit and retain talent in high-turnover industries.
  • Solid knowledge of payroll, labor laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in designing KPI-based evaluation systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software (e.g., Gusto, BambooHR, ADP).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multi-location restaurant or hospitality experience.
  • Familiarity with Indiana labor laws.
  • Multilingual communication skills (English, Korean, Japanese) are a plus.
