Job Overview

At Toro Kitchen & Bar, a modern Spanish restaurant, our Line Cooks are the heartbeat of the kitchen—bringing Spanish flavors to life with skill, precision, and speed. You’ll work the line during busy services, executing dishes to perfection while keeping your station organized and your cool under pressure. Every plate you send out tells the story of our cuisine and our passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and stock your station with all necessary ingredients and supplies before service.
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and plating guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of your station throughout the shift.
  • Monitor food quality, flavor, and presentation to ensure consistency.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate ticket times and service flow.
  • Assist with prep work, receiving, and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols.
  • Support other kitchen stations when needed to keep service seamless.

Skills

  • 1–2 years of line cook experience in a high-volume or upscale restaurant preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, equipment, and kitchen organization.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining quality and speed.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain).
