Job Description Summary

Position Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to safely and effectively supervise a crew or supervise and direct up to (3) Lead Carpenters, who each run a small crew, to erect and dismantle various types of scaffolding under the supervision of the E&D Foreman 2 or E&D Supervisor
  • Must have good knowledge of the OSHA rules and regulations regarding scaffolding
  • Must have a good knowledge and understanding of the various types of scaffolding material being used so that the intended loads of the scaffolding are not exceeded
  • Foreman 1 is required to work with his tools from to time
  • Design various types of scaffolds and order materials as required to maintain work flow
  • Perform all necessary documentations i.e. delivery/pick up tickets, time sheets, extra work authorizations, safety plans, JSA’s and scaffold inspection checklists, etc.
  • Foreman 1 must act as a mentor and coach to the Scaffold E&D Lead Carpenters to aid in their development
  • Training Requirements include, but are not limited to:
    • Scaffold Safety Orientation
    • Supported Scaffold Builder 1 (scaffold user training – SBU online)
    • Supported Scaffold Builder 1.5 (where applicable – STI online)

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Scaffold E&D Lead Carpenter for a minimum of 2 years or approved equivalent experience
  • Some trade school preferred but not required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Supervisory skills
  • Work planning skills
  • Ability to work comfortably and safely at considerable heights
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs
  • Self-motivated and well organized
  • Safety oriented
  • Bilingual a plus

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 40 pounds or more, as required by the job.  Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.  All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.

Base Pay Range: $21.38 - 26.72
