Senior Software Engineer

About Your Role

As an Application Development – Advisor I, you will join a vibrant team focused on creating innovative solutions that streamline financial transactions and ensure security. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining applications that meet the dynamic needs of our clients.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications to support Fiserv's business initiatives.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Perform coding, testing, and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to ensure best practices.

Experience You'll Need To Have

• 10+ years of software development engineering experience.
• 10+ years of experience in an IBM Mainframe environment – specifically with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and working with IBM Mainframe ZOS toolsets.
• 10+ years of experience in Job Scheduling (CA7); IDCAMS, SyncSort; File-Master; File Transmission (FTP/NDM); Endevor.
• 10+ years of experience in Application Production Support, with the ability to provide 24x7 support for up to a week at a time.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (or foreign equivalent degree) or equivalent work experience.

Experience That Would Be Great To Have

• Experience in technical design writing and documentation
• Knowledge of Visa Base II format, MC IPM format, Amex and Discover format will be added advantage.
• Understanding of credit card authorization and settlement clearing format

Important Information About This Role

• This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
• This is a full-time, direct-hire position, and no contract options for unsolicited agency submissions will be considered.
