The Sheet Metal Worker works within the Sheet Metal fabrication shop. Operating hand and CNC machinery to cut and form precision parts and assemblies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Operation of CNC cutting machinery, i.e. Punch Press, Fiber Laser, Omax Water jet
- Deburring, drilling, and sanding of parts produced
- Loading/unloading material from machines and material racks
- Operation of Press Brake to form complex assemblies
- Interpretation of drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of products
- Coordinating daily work with direct supervisor.
- Inspection of completed work for quality standards and GDIT conformance requirements.
- Perform preventative maintenance and upkeep to machine and workstation.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Experience: 1+ years of prior Sheet Metal or relevant experience.
- Previous operation of Fiber laser, Waterjet, Punch or Press Brake
- Education: High School Diploma/GED
- Basic knowledge of shop machinery, hand and power tools.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to work within a small, motivated team.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments (i.e.: calipers, micrometers, gages, etc.).
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift minimum.
- Must be able to obtain forklift certification
Must be a US Citizen
Ability to obtain & maintain a Secret security clearance

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $21.25 - $28.75. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
