The Telecommunications department is deploying a new communications network to meet the evolving needs of the utility. Current work includes implementation of a P25 land mobile radio system, deployment of a 900 MHz point‑to‑multipoint network supporting Distribution Automation and Advanced Metering Infrastructure, and replacement of a legacy SONET network with an MPLS‑based transport network.
