Yard Dog Driver

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $20 - $20 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Yard Dog Driver:

• Safely hook up, move, and position trailers in tight spaces, docks, and storage spots
• Operate yard trucks (yard mules/hostlers) to move trailers and containers within the yard or between dock doors
• Spot and position trailers safely and efficiently for loading and unloading
• Inspect trailers for damage or safety issues and report findings to supervisors
• Ensure all trailer moves are properly logged and tracked
• Maintain organization of the yard to ensure smooth traffic flow
• Communicate with dispatchers, warehouse, and dock personnel to coordinate trailer movement
• Perform basic vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks
• Follow all safety policies, traffic patterns, and procedures on company property

Available shifts:

Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day)

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
• Previous experience as a Yard Jockey, Yard Mule Operator, or similar position preferred
• CDL or prior truck driving experience a plus
• Ability to operate tractor-trailer equipment safely in tight spaces
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
• Reliable and punctual with good communication skills
• Background Check Required
• Drug Test Required
