What is a Contract Administrator?
A Contract Administrator works within the Treasury & Risk organization and supports the Contracts team in the creation, review, and execution of contracts. A Contract Administrator analyzes contracts, supports internal customer needs, collaborates with the IT, Legal, and Risk teams regarding the Company’s contractual risks and performs ad hoc activities as needed. Title/level is commensurate with practice (e.g. Jr, Assoc, Sr, etc.).



What does a Contract Administrator do?
Under supervision with the opportunity for independent action and judgment:

»Assists in the preparation of contracts and manages database workflow items for contracts

»Reviews RFPs, specifications, and statements of work for changes in contract terms and contract renewals

»Works collaboratively with legal contacts, internal stakeholders, and vendors to drive resolution for issues related to contracts management

»Ensures accurate and timely annual reporting, especially regarding leases and future contractual obligations

»Provides advice and assistance to other company personnel concerning contract matters

»Monitors best practices and updates and implements procedures for contract management, administration, and system usage in compliance with company policies

»Participates in continuous process improvement and identifies ways to increase efficiency and effectiveness of contract functions

»Provides support for storm/emergency restoration efforts



What does it take to be a Contract Administrator?

Required:

»Associate’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. In lieu of an associate’s degree, candidates with a high school diploma or equivalency degree and 5+ years of related practice will be considered.

»Proficiency and practice with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the capability to lgain new computer software programs quickly

»Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking expertise with a high level of attention to detail

»Well-developed written and verbal communication expertise

»Must be a self-starter and capable working independently or as part of a team

» capability to work in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment and respond/work during non-traditional hours as needed

»Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

»Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration

»Lean Six Sigma practice preferred

»Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) certification is beneficial

»New York State legal practice with concentration in contract law
