The company is currently seeking a talented Web Software Developer to join its Houston-based team and contribute to the development of enterprise-grade web applications.

In this position, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable web applications that support both internal operations and client-facing platforms. The role involves working across the full technology stack, creating modern and responsive front-end interfaces using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, while also developing robust backend systems using technologies like Python, PHP, Node.js, and relational databases.

You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including researchers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and business stakeholders, to deliver user-centric and high-impact solutions. The role also includes integrating advanced technologies such as AI tools, geospatial systems, and data visualization platforms to enhance application functionality.

Additionally, you will play an active role in DevOps practices by contributing to CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and modern software delivery processes. Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Strong academic background with a Master’s degree and at least 5 years of experience, or a PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in programming languages including PHP, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Ruby, SQL, and front-end technologies such as HTML/CSS
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue, along with styling tools such as Sass, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, or Ant Design
• Hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as Node.js, Express, and ORM tools
• Solid understanding of both SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL systems like Elasticsearch
• Familiarity with GIS tools and libraries such as OpenLayers, Leaflet.js, Three.js, and Chart.js
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment strategies
• Strong knowledge of UI/UX principles and data visualization techniques
• Experience working in Agile environments, applying test-driven development, unit testing (Jest, Mocha), and Git workflows
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda) or Microsoft Azure
• Experience developing machine learning or LLM-based applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in building large-scale, data-intensive, or GIS-driven applications
• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, research, and business teams
• Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to present technical concepts clearly
